Parliamentary body asks to investigate ‘irregularities' in land acquisition for PBI office in Cox’s Bazar

Today, a parliamentary body formed a sub-committee of three members to investigate alleged irregularities in the acquisition of one acre and 100 decimals of land in order to build a Police Bureau of Intelligence in Cox's Bazar. At a meeting at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, the parliamentary standing committee for land ministry reached the final decision. Mokbul Hossain (chief of the parliamentary watchdog) told The Daily Star that Habibur Rahman, Ruling Awami League MP from Bogura-5, was elected as the convener of this sub-committee. Umme Fatema Begum and Monoranjan Shilgopal, AL MPs from Dinajpur-1, were also made members. The sub-committee had to submit its report within one month to the main committee.
